How You Can Help

This site is designed as a virtual visitor center for Fell's Point.  Our goal is to provide information on this unique community for those who want to visit, who live here, or who want to learn about its history.

The site was originally created in 2002 by Tonal Vision, a Fell's Point video production business.  For the first few years, we paid for hosting ourselves and did all the work for free.  During busy seasons, however, the site could not be kept up to date, and there was no funding for upgrades or developing new content.

We are now reaching out to the community for help.  You can contribute in the following ways:

  1. Become a site sponsor: If you are a local business that would benefit from recognition as a site sponsor*, consider helping fund the work on the site.  The income from site sponsors will be used to pay wages to our employees to keep the information on the site current, add content, and make periodic upgrades as web technology changes.
  2. Contribute content: Did you get some great photos of the last Festival or other Fell's Point event?  Do you have a picture or document about the community in times past?  If so, and you are willing to share with visitors to FellsPoint.US, send them to us.  The only restriction is that you must own the rights to the material, have permission from whoever does own it, or it must not be subject to copyright restrictions.

Up to 10 businesses, organizations and/or individuals can sponsor the FellsPoint.US site.

Benefits of sponsorship

  • Your business name, logo, and a link to your web page in the footer of every page on this site
  • If you have a historic building, we will include its image in the buildings that appear as part of the top logo
  • The knowledge that you are helping promote Fell's Point and providing visitors with information on its history.

Cost:  $500/year

What this pays for:

  • Monthly retainer for employee or contractor to add calendar events, businesses, photos, etc.
  • A photographer to take photos of major events which can be posted on the site.  In the past, we've had a number of our photos used by publications and news organizations for publicizing Fell's Point and its events
  • 20 hours/year of design and programming time for site upgrades and enhancements
  • $2,000 in video production services for a PSA or short documentary video for a community non-profit.  In the past, Tonal Vision has produced:
    • Welcome videos for the Fun Festival to display on the Beer Garden Jumbotron and at the Preservation Society booth
    • Privateer Day promotional videos
    • Harbor Ball promotional video
    • Oral history interviews with 24 leaders, historians and experts on some aspect of Fell's Point, which were combined into the documentary, "Fell's Point Out of Time."  At least three of these people have died since their interviews, and their story would otherwise have been lost.
